Our group is focused on the development of cutting-edge semiconductor quantum optoelectronic technologies, from epitaxy to device, system, and their applications in sensing, imaging, communication, and spectroscopy from infrared to terahertz (THz) spectral range (λ~1-300 μm). The main research areas of our group include: high performance mid-infrared quantum cascade lasers (QCLs) for spectroscopy, sensing, and ranging, THz QCLs and room temperature terahertz sources based on intracavity difference frequency generation, on-chip frequency comb generation and dual-comb technology for molecular spectroscopy, quantum dot epitaxy and microcavity for single photon sources, and so on.
